The Government of India's tourism portal lists Ramnagar Ramlila in September 2026 and describes the tradition as spanning 31 days, but it does not publish a complete night-by-night calendar. Use the organiser's current local programme for the episode, time and meeting point on the day you attend.
How the moving-stage tradition works
Ramnagar becomes the setting for the Ramayana rather than relying on one conventional theatre. Different outdoor areas represent places in the story, and spectators may move as the narrative advances. The route, walking distance and accessible vehicle point depend on that night's episode.
This means a fixed map copied from an earlier year is not enough for planning. The practical source of truth is the current daily programme and local directions.
Do not confuse Ramnagar with Nati Imli
Nati Imli is a locality in Varanasi city, not a zone of Ramnagar town. The famous Nati Imli Bharat Milap is a separate local Ramlila tradition. A route map describing a procession from Ramnagar Fort to Nati Imli as one moving-stage sequence is misleading and should not be used.
