The 3-Day Kashi–Gaya Circuit, Day by Day
Gaya (in Bihar, ~5 hours from Varanasi) is considered the ultimate destination for Pind Daan — offering pind at the Vishnupad Temple and the sacred Falgu river is believed to grant moksha to ancestors. Many families deliberately pair the two cities:
- Day 1 — Kashi: dawn Tarpan and Shradh at Tulsi/Kedar Ghat; rest; optional Kashi Vishwanath darshan.
- Day 2 — Gaya: travel to Gaya; Pind Daan at Vishnupad and the Falgu ghats with a Gaya purohit.
- Day 3 — Return / Prayagraj (optional): return to Kashi, or extend to Prayagraj for Tarpan at the Triveni Sangam.

Pitru Paksha 2026 Dates & Year-Round Varshik Shradh

Monsoon Preparedness (Jul–Sep)
- No boat rides — the Ganga is in flood and boats are suspended; rites are ghat-side/inland.
- Footwear: strapped, grippy sandals (not foam clogs) for wet stone.
- Water: carry a personal filter bottle (Sawyer-type).
- Transport: auto/e-rickshaw to bypass congestion and waterlogging.
